A curry man will survive, we say grace and we say lamb....Heritage India Review

The trees coexistence with their leaf counterparts disperse as the blue skies now turn a somber gray. The coat check room becomes accessible transposing into something other than a place for waiters to take the new hostess.  The dismal return of winter brings about the innate desire for warmth provoking a spicier curry to be conjured by curry aficionados. My quest for this spicy curry was found at Heritage India in Dupont.  Myself and fellow Curry Connoisseur known by his curry name  "CCC" had a swagger about us as entered.  A dimly lit setting revealed an unpretentious throwback in an age of ethnic foodie hotspots. Instead, portraits of past India rulers, tigers, and Indian textiles adorned the walls. After inquiring about the spiciest curry, I ordered the lamb vindaloo. The heat was subtle yet matured throughout the meal leaving me satisfied with perfectly cooked lamb and authentic spice.  I highly recommend venturing to Heritage India in Dupont.

Curry submission from TEXAS/ A new Underground Indian Gem

While my brief sabbatical from posting whimsical adventures of Curry was short, my personal interactions with the beloved spice was found all around me.  For a while now my roommate also known as "CCC," and guest blogger, has been recommending Aditi, a small Indian gem found below Union Station.  While many of the faux foodie ethnophobes would be discouraged to take a chance outside of the MSG ladened Chinese food, Aditi "brings it." What is "it" you might ask? "It" is an infusion of quality curry with delicate spice.  One highlight of the trip is the Chicken Tikka Masala, a bbq chicken curry of sorts, and highly recommended by the American Curry Association(ACA).

In the year of curry12, the world will end

Today started out like any other day, wake up, shower, find some semi-clean clothes and off to work.  However, upon my arrival my Dad had sent me a picture of his latest curry conquest. While I haven't been able to obtain all the facts pertaining to this Indian delight, the picture does most of the talking.  The picture was taken at the Water Wheel Restaurant in Milford, PA. To portray this as an innocent curry adventure would be naive because in roughly six hours he would be on his way to the airport.  There was a reason "magic carpets" were used in Indian folklore, mostly for the expansive culmination of scent neutralizing gusts that would accompany the ride. I encourage everyone to have a curry adventure and send me pictures and updates, lets do our part to spread curry love. amen

Curry Connoisseur Cameron's White Tiger Experience

Thanks to CCC for the submission...now sit back and enjoy the curry adventure

White Tiger located at the corner of 3rd, D, and Massachusetts NE in Washington offers and excellent bang for your Rupee.  As I approached the side door of White Tiger, the intense smell of spices let me know this was going to be a great curry adventure.  We sat upstairs, which is quite a problem since the spiral staircase can only accommodate one customer per direction.  The obvious problem is customers are leaving the buffet and heading upstairs while I am trapped waiting to dig in with a calm, uncurrified mouth and stomach.

After reaching the buffet my luck changed.  The aromas of spiced dishes and Tandoori chicken were enough to have my plate filled before I could try all the offerings.  I hardly squeezed the saffron rice and three different spiced dished onto one plate.  The beef curry certainly was great, however I am not really a fan of mixing Indian food and beef, I don’t know just call me traditional but I would prefer lamb or chicken.  The other dishes were also excellent; one was made with corn and had quite a spicy taste to keep my mind on the goal.  The other I honestly can’t remember but I am sure it was stomach splittingly awesome.  It took two orders of Naan bread and 2 plates of food to get me out of there.  I left with my usual dizzy feeling with a nice sweat above my upper lip and on my brow.  As I walked back to my desk I was sure I could not finish the day because a curry explosion was looming and my mind was exhausted from fighting my body to take this curry down.

White Tiger gave me its best shot however I persevered because I am a man.  And I man who can handle his curry.  They charged me $11 dollars to sit at this buffet.  They threw obstacles like tight wobbly stairs in between the curry and I, but I still cost them at least $20 for the amount of curry I hoarded in my lower abdomen.  I impressed our friendly Indian waitress so much he asked me for an autograph, I declined, slapped him and told him “this is America; We have the best curry in the world, and any real American can eat at least twice the value in food of the asking price at a buffet.”
And that was my White Tiger Experience, it was great and I will go back to dominate again.

Ask not what your curry can do for you, ask what you can do for your curry..

The monotonous routine of ones life can be described as normal for most lemmings that inhabit vast lands deprived of curry. The underlying tone set by a spicy vindaloo on a Saturday night, which was the case for me, can engulf your senses and knock you into a strange coma filled with uncomfortable visions of Indians leading economic development with their tantilizing curry recipes. Let me make clear that 80% of Indians are Hindu and not (extreme)Muslims, so trying your new favorite curry doesn't involve supporting terrorism. Now that we have that cleared up, the vindaloo curry trance was induced from one of my favorite curry places I've found so far in DC, Capitol Hill Tandoor and Grill. I recommend this curry for advanced curry eaters, the vindaloo which is a very spicy red curry mixed with potatoes.  Please check back soon for a review by Curry Connoisseur Cameron of White Tiger's lunch buffet.

Where am I...? I must have just eaten some curry!

Welcome! You are about to read possibly, no definitely, the greatest curry blog ever created by mankind...mankind huh...after today mankind will have new meaning.

While most people emerge Sunday morning after a late night of drinking, they spend it with a will to die, fresh Gatorade, and a weekend full of vague memories emanating from a plethora of bad decisions.  My roommates and I postpone this feeling with a ritual known as the Sunday meeting of Curry Connoisseurs'.  As each Sunday progresses everyone in the house knows we aren't thinking about what premium cable show to watch, mostly because we already know, but what curry dish are we going to try, and for Doug,(our Louisiana swamp people roommate) which bathroom to use after.  This blog will evoke a roller-coaster of emotions as you follow me and my roommates through our curry adventures, as well as learning about curry dishes, benefits of curry, and the best restaurants around town.
